AMECC – LAUNCHING MODULES 1, 2 – LONG SON PETROCHEMICAL COMPLEX PROJECT
On the afternoon of October 12, at PTSC Petroleum Service Port, AMECC Mechanical Construction Joint Stock Company and Samsung Engineering, Long Son Petrochemical Complex (LSP) successfully held the launching ceremony of the first 2 modules of the project. Long Son petrochemical complex project.
The Southern Petrochemicals Complex (Long Son Petrochemicals – LSP) with a total investment of US $ 5.4 billion held a groundbreaking ceremony in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. This is the first petrochemical complex in Vietnam with a capacity of up to 1.6 million tons / year, capable of replacing polyolefins products that are currently imported. The project also includes other infrastructure besides petrochemical complex, deep water port.
The Prime Minister has set many requirements to the investor, assigning specific tasks to the PVN and Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, to ensure the project is completed, operated on schedule, because this project has been unsuccessful for the past 10 years.
For the investor, the head of the Government requests to ensure on schedule, apply modern science and technology in the process of project construction and installation to operate safely. During the construction of the project, it is necessary to commit to comply with the regulations on protection of natural and social environments. Along with that is to preserve the traditional culture of the local people and restore the natural forests in this area, for sustainable and long-term development.
The project is expected to create about 15,000-20,000 jobs in the construction process, and more than 1,000 skilled workers when it comes into commercial operation. Amecc JSC was honored to be selected by Samsung Engineering as the main contractor to construct and fabricate 17 modules with a total volume of up to 10,116.36 tons.
After more than 11 months of construction, on October 12, 2020, AMECC and Samsung Engineering organized the launch of the first 2 modules and handed over to the investor. It is expected that the next 15 modules will be handed over from November 2020 to January 2021 respectively. In the packages of EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) engineering, procurement and construction, Samsung Engineering won the B&C package, and became the main contractor for these two packages.
The complex is designed to produce various petrochemical products, including essential plastic materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene and other products in quantities of more than two million tons per year, allowing for replacement of imported polyolefin products.
Total weight of 2 modules 1 and 2 is 407 tons, transported by Viettransimex contractor over 200m distance to the barges for transporting to Long Son island.
